Last week, I played solo at The Fairchild Chapel at Oberlin College. It was, by far, the biggest space I’ve ever played solo in, and quite an experience. This is one of the songs from that set, curtesy of Adam Hirsch. It sounds pretty cool.
I recorded this podcast with Drew Williams of Wing Walker Music. He has graciously released it today, in honor of my impending tour departure. I had a lot of fun recording it, take a listen.
I sit down with Jonah Parzen-Johnson and talk about his upcoming tour
and his use of an analog synthesizer with his Baritone Saxophone.
Also, I announce the next Wing Walker Music Presents show on Dec.

Over the weekend I spent some time making and listening to music with Ian McLellan Davis, and even though he’s taken the opportunity to remind me of what a silly 19 year old college student I was, I still appreciate the excerpt he posted. Ian is one of the music makers I admire most, and it was a pleasure to get to play with him! I’m looking forward to doing it more.
Jonah and I played at my apartment in Ditmas Park. This was a particularly cathartic experience; my last memory of improvising music with Jonah was him screaming “STOP FUCKING UP!” across an NYU rehearsal room at me. Since then though I think he’s mellowed out a bit and I’ve gotten better at guitar so this was a much more successful meeting. He is a beast of a saxophonist and his knowledge of and creative approach to working with synthesizers is geekily masterful.
Round 2 of my 7 Inch release tour starts this week! Have you checked out my new record yet?
